WINCHESTER CITY COUNCIL - BUSINESS RATE BILL ERRORS!
We have noticed that Winchester City Council have made errors in their business rate bills. If you have a commercial property within the Winchester City Council area then please let us know and we can quickly check your rates bill to see whether it is erroneous or not.
Howard Elliott, head of BDT’s rating department, urges any ratepayers in the Winchester area to get in touch to have their bills checked. “These are not mathematical errors on the rates bill so these are very difficult to pick up from the individual bill itself” he explained. “There is potential for hundreds of businesses to be overcharged by tens of thousands of pounds in error during what are very testing times for businesses”.
Update 27.04.2010. The Council have corrected and re-issued the affected bills so we can now turn our attention to the rateable values.
